Car Transporter Trailer, Twin Axle. I bought this a couple of weeks ago to recover a Fiat Panda from northern Italy.
As you can see from the photos, it did exactly that, without any problems. About 1500 miles in 3 days! Trailer looks to have been home made on standard axles and is pretty solid, but not geometrically perfect or pretty. I used a laser thermometer to check the wheel bearings at every stop (after hours of motorway driving) and they were all consistently cool.
When jacked up they spun smoothly. Takes small and possibly medium sized cars.Great electrics with orange side marker lights, additional mud guard lights, dual fog lights very useful in bad fog in France! All four sets of brake shoes replaced. New jockey wheel (but its a bit rubbish).
Massively heavy duty loading ramps prob 30kg each! Towed perfectly behind my Freelander. As stated, it is home made and built for strength not beauty.
Brake shoe on one wheel squeaking. One tyre rim loses about 1 psi per day. The front right wheel appears to have a bit more camber that the others when fully loaded, but the hub didnt heat up at all and it towed well, so It could be that the weight was more on that axle but I would investigate that further if doing another long trip. New jockey wheel is heavy duty but actually feeble rubbish. In summary, this trailer is proven to work and tow well and has all LED lights and new brakes. Tyres are all very good. Following several questions I realise I omitted some key information.
Trailer bed is 400cm by 168cm with each track being about 35cm wide. Overall length including hitch is 5m. The hitch is and Indespension Triple Lock rated to 2660kg, dated 1985.
